Obituary for Ellis Jackson "Jack" Lambert

Mr. Ellis Jackson “Jack” Lambert, age 80, of Olive Hill, Kentucky formerly of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Friday evening, April 6, 2018, at his residence.

He was born May 16, 1937, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a son of the late Samuel and Beulah Dummitt Lambert.

Jack was an ordained minister in the Kentucky Christian Holiness Conference, and a former Deputy Sheriff with the Lewis County Sheriff Department, during Virgil Cole and Bill Lewis’ administration. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, ginsenging and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Witten Lambert; one step son, Charles Patrick Layne; three brothers, Donald Lambert, Stanley Lambert, and Lester Lambert; and one sister, Mildred Lambert.

Jack is survived by his wife of 12 years, Sharon Conkey Lambert; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Michael Lambert of Jacksonville, Florida, Mitchell Lambert of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Bill and Josephine Lambert and Lynn and Helen Lambert, both of Buycrus, Ohio, and Sam and Carolyn Lambert of Garrison, Kentucky; three daughters and one son-in-law, Connie Logan of Hillsboro, Ohio, Linda Bolander of Garrison, Kentucky, and Ava Gay and George McGinnis of Vanceburg, Kentucky; three step children; Joyce Jessie of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Angela Layne and Sam Layne, both of Lancaster, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Roger Lambert of Haspter, Ohio; three sisters, Mazie Butler and Margie Hughes, both of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Mary Clark of Garrison, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison, Kentucky, with Pastor J.C. Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Witten Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue, Garrison, Kentucky 41141.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
