Obituary for William Eugene "Tom" Jarvis

Mr. William Eugene “Tom” Jarvis, age 63, of Flat Fork Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday evening, June 28, 2019, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

He was born September 3, 1955, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of Anna Lee Sammons Seagraves and the late Hobert Eugene Jarvis.

Tom graduated from Olive Hill High School and played basketball for the Comets. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed wood working, hunting, being outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, William Eugene “Willie” Jarvis II; one granddaughter, Shelby Renee Clark; one brother, Dennis Ray Jarvis; and one sister, Esteline Sammons.

In addition to his mother, Tom is survived by his wife of 43 years, Earlene Smith Jarvis; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Stickler (Terri) of Grayson, Kentucky, Josh Jarvis (Desiree) and Scott Clark (Angela) all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Megan Stickler, Alyssa Stickler, Hunter Stickler all of Grayson, Kentucky and Bentley Stallard-Jarvis of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one brother, Terry Porter of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and two sisters, Tempie Tussey and Debbie Boggs both of Olive Hill, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Rick Kiser and Brother Marcus McCleese officiating. Burial will follow in the Jarvis Cemetery on Flat Fork Road in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Thomas Stickler, Josh Jarvis, Scott Clark, Kenny Pierce, Larry Logan, Ronnie Hall, Ron Stallard and Ryan Stallard will serve as pallbearers. Rex Bowling and Roger Sloan will serve as honorary pallbearers.
