Obituary for Nelma Jean Morgan Hollingsworth

Nelma “Jean” Morgan Hollingsworth, age 85, of Carter Cave Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, entered into rest, Monday morning, August 26, 2019, at her residence.

She was born June 5, 1934, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Sherman and Mae McGlone Morgan.

Jean was a member of Pleasant Valley Gospel Tabernacle and she dedicated her life to serving the Lord. She enjoyed singing with her husband, working outside in her flowers, going to church, attending women’s circle spending time with her family that she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Robert “J.R.” Hollingsworth; two sons, Roger Lee Hollingsworth and Jeffrey Hollingsworth; one grandson, Josh Binion; one brother, John Morgan; and one infant brother.

Nelma is survived by three sons, Jim Hollingsworth (Karen) and Keith Hollingsworth (Renee), all of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Robin Dale Hollingsworth (Debbie) of Winfield, West Virginia; one daughter, Shelia Binion (Randy) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a special caregiver who Jean thought of as her own, Christy Cox. She also leaves many other family other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Pleasant Valley Gospel Tabernacle in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Randy Binion officiating. Burial will follow in the Bentley Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.

Jean’s family will serve as pallbearers.
