Obituary for Johnny Stewart "John" Ingold

Mr. Johnny Stewart “John” Ingold, age 70, of Bardstown, Kentucky, formerly of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, at his residence.

He was born November 13, 1948, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, a son of the late Charlie and Ruth Ingold.

John attended New Salem Baptist Church and proudly served our country in the United States Army, where he received a Purple Heart and other medals, while in Vietnam. He was retired from Bell South after 37 years and a member of the American Legion Nelson County Post No. 42, and D.A.V.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte Sue Ingold, infant and Mary Louise Ingold; and one brother, Stanley R. Ingold.

John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Connie Hignite Ingold of Bardstown, Kentucky; one daughter, Tammy Ingold Hardin of Bardstown, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Brooke Hardin; three sisters, Helen Ingram of Corona, California, Fran Woody (Bill) of Dayton, Ohio and Alice Leethy (Mark) of Beavercreek, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly morn his passing.

A memorial service will be held at noon Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Barlow Funeral Home, with inurnment in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery at a later date. His nephew, Doug Woody and Brother Jonathan Gann will be officiating.

Friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019 and 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, at Barlow Funeral Home, 2675 East John Rowan Blvd., Bardstown, Kentucky 40004.

Memorial contributions may go to the American Legion Nelson County Post No. 42, PO Box 646, Bardstown, Kentucky 40004.
