Obituary for Johnny Ray Kegley

Mr. Johnny Ray Kegley, age 71, of Garrison, Kentucky, passed away Saturday morning, June 1, 2019, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Kentucky.

He was born February 20, 1948, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a son of the late Julius and Marie Bryant Kegley.

Johnny was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed gardening, farming, logging, telling stories and spending time with everyone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Everret Kegley Jr. and William Glen Kegley; two sisters, Lillie Goodwin and Inez Harris; and one nephew, Anthony Wayne Kegley.

Johnny is survived by one son, Johnny Ray Kegley II (Heather) of Vanceburg, Kentucky; one daughter, Lisa Fannin (Billy) of Vanceburg, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Wyatt Fannin and Coalton Fannin; one great grandson, Ryker Fannin; one sister, Irene Rose (Mike) of Vanceburg, Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Felix Goodin Jr. of Vanceburg, Kentucky; and one sister-in-law, Sharon Kegley of Vanceburg, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Kentucky with Brother Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in the Conley Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 and after 9 a.m. Friday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street, Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.

Wyatt Fannin, Harold Roe, Coalton Fannin, Billy Kegley, Billy Fannin and Boe Kegley will serve as pallbearers. David Goodwin will serve as honorary pallbearer.
