Obituary for John Henry Stamper

Mr. John Henry Stamper, age 69, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday evening, October 8, 2018, his residence.

He was born January 31, 1949, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, a son of the late John and Ethel Humphries Stamper.

John was of the Christian faith and worked until his retirement for the Carter County Board of Education. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, working and spending time with his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Linda Lou Fultz Stamper; two brothers, Estill Stamper and Clinton Stamper; and one sister, Margie Stamper.

John is survived by one son, Christopher John Stamper of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Robert Stamper and Victoria Stamper, both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one brother and sister-in-law, Virgil and Kathy Stamper of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one sister and brother-in-law, Edna Mae and Johnny Kitchen of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one ex daughter-in-law, Tina Stamper (Mark Blankenship) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and one step grandchild, Kaiden Christy of Olive Hill, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Matt Blankenship and Brother Terry Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Amy McGlone Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018, and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Dale McGlone, Daniel McGlone, Danny McGlone, Glenn Kitchen, Stephen Kitchen, and Davy Stamper will serve as pallbearers. Glen Stamper and Brad Kiser will serve as honorary pallbearers.
