Obituary for Janet Gail Erwin Baker

Mrs. Janet Gail Erwin Baker, age 82, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday morning, October 10, 2018, at her residence.

She was born December 14, 1935, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Edward and Evelyn Scott Erwin.

Janet was a homemaker and she loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and enjoyed when they came to visit her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 14 years, Brady Baker; one son, Gregory Allen Baker; one brother, George Erwin; one sister, Shelby Spencer; and one son-in-law, Billy Ray Hall.

Janet is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Karen Baker of Vanceburg, Kentucky; two daughters and one son-in-law, Charlotte and Greg Rayburn of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Shelia Hall of Soldier, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Craig (Kim) Rayburn, Clarissa Hensley, Nicholas (Kandis) Rayburn, Ryan Rayburn, Megan Plank, Christopher (Lalona) Hall, and Stephanie Hall; 14 great grandchildren, Alexandria Rayburn, Rylyn Rayburn, Ethan Rayburn, Elizabeth Plank, Jacob Plank, Abygail Hensley, Jordan Richmond, Harper Hall, Scarlett Hall, Myah Rayburn, Piper Rayburn, Kayleigh Rayburn, Kassidy Rayburn and Jacie Kiser; one brother, James “Bud” Erwin of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and one sister, Ramona Roberts of Albany, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Rex Sagraves and Brother David Rayburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018, and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Craig Rayburn, Nick Rayburn, Ryan Rayburn, Christopher Hall, Jamie Erwin and Tracey Erwin will serve as pallbearers.
