Obituary for Bessie Louise Conn Colley

Mrs. Bessie Louise Conn Colley, age 80, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, entered into rest, Sunday morning, September 29, 2019, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was born March 22, 1939, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Claude and Lola Adkins Conn.

Bessie attended Bowen Chapel Church and she enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards with family, going to Gatlinburg and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Jack Bryan Colley; two brothers, Roy Conn and Ronald Conn; and three sisters, Doris Wilburn, Olive Tackett and Gloria Oney.

Bessie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jack Colley; one daughter, Tammi Stephens (Rocky) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Shannon Shutte (Josh), Jeffrey Oney Jr. (Codie) and Jesse Stephens; four great grandchildren, Wylie Shutte, Tomi Shutte, Kincayde Bocook and Emerson Oney; one brother, James Conn of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and one sister Karen Tackett (Lonnie) of Olive Hill, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2019, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with her granddaughter, Shannon Shutte, Brother Gary Sparks and Brother Chris Colley officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019, and after 9 a.m. on Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Jeffery Oney Jr., Jesse Stephens, Wylie Shutte, Josh Shutte, Ralph Lowe and Zach Shutte will serve as pallbearers. Mike Colley will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
