Obituary for Louise Kidwell Kimble

Mrs. Louise Kidwell Kimble, age 97, of Pinellas Park, Florida, formerly of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017, at Cypress Palms Assisted Living in Largo, Florida.

She was born September 14, 1920, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Thomas Jackson and Cassie Stone Kidwell.

Louise was a member of the Vanceburg United Methodist Church and owned Martin’s Super Value grocery store with her husband for 25 years. She enjoyed growing beautiful rose bushes in her yard and was a great cook, known for her homemade yeast rolls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Martin Kimble; one son, Larry Dean Thomas; and three sisters, Velma Reeder, Mildred Rasogna and Leona McCullough.

Louise is survived by two grandchildren, Paige Albertson and Neal Thomas; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Kidwell of Ocala, Florida and Wayne “Butch” Kidwell of Vanceburg, Kentucky; and three sisters, Rebecca Reeder of Florence, Kentucky, JoAnn Moyer of Mansfield, Ohio and Avanelle Kidwell of Shelby Township, Michigan. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Kentucky with Brother Tom Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Oak Cemetery in Black Oak, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 12 noon till 2 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street, Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
